Matapouri Beach - Northland

Matapouri Beach is located approximately 30km from Whangarei.

Roughly 700m of beautiful golden sand with lovely grass areas and beautiful rock formations at either end. This location option gives you plenty of different looks from, beach, grasses, rocks and a short walk down one end to a beautiful rocky bay. Evening sessions work well here when the sun is lower usually around sunset time or the hour before. But don't worry if you can't make sunset there is plenty of other area here that work too!

Ruakaka - Forest

Located a short drive from Whangarei Is Ruakaka Forest.

This location is super safe for all the young ones, provides plenty of room for them to run around and plenty of shelter. Surrounded by tall pine trees and long grass this makes a perfect session spot. Any time of day here works. If we plan it right for sunset you may get golden light peeking through.

Ruakaka Beach

20 Minutes' drive from Whangarei is Ruakaka Beach a sweeping 13km of beautiful white sand and warm waters. This location spot is perfect for families and maternity sessions. There is the beautiful grasses and easy access to parking. My favorite times to shoot here is early morning before 10am or if we time it right the sun sets beautifully behind the grasses providing the softest golden light.

BARGE PARK, MAUNU

Barge Park located in Maunu, Whangarei is an amazing little spot that is super close to town. This location works well for families who want an outdoor location that is quick, safe and no fuss!
